Fall Into Reading 2009   15 comments

Collages10

I just got a Kindle and I am really looking forward to reading my Fall 2009 selections on this device!  Personally, I like to read more than one book at a time. Having them all available on one easy to use electronic gizmo is fantastic. (Aren’t those screen savers cool?!)

I travel between Washington and California each week and it’s great to be able to take all my books and the daily newspaper on the plane in the palm of my hand. The Kindle is a traveler’s dream come true.

Enough about the Kindle, here is my list  for this fall…

Fiction:

Aunt Dimity Slays the Dragon – Nancy Atherton

Cream Puff Murder – Joanne Fluke

The Defector – Daniel Silva

Non – Fiction:

Forgotten God: Reversing Our Tragic Neglect of the Holy Spirit – Francis Chan

Loving God with All Your Mind – Elizabeth George

Knowing Christ Today: Why We Can Trust Spiritual Knowledge – Dallas Willard

  1. The Kindle sounds perfect for you Lana!

  2. I’ll be looking forward to hearing more about how you like the Kindle!

I’ve read some of Elizabeth George’s books, but I can’t remember if I read that one.

  3. OK, I have to admit I’m starting to get jealous of the Kindles. 😉

I’ve seen Cream Puff Murder mentioned quite a bit the last few days, I’ll have to look into it.

  4. Oh, my hubby would love to have a kindle! Me~I think I prefer the feel of a book in my hands:)
Your list looks great, I love Elizabeth George’s books. Happy reading!

  5. You are a reader after my own heart — I’ve enjoyed books by all these authors, AND I, too, am enjoying my new Kindle! I haven’t read an Aunt Dimity book in a while…I should probably pick up another one soon. They’re always charming and enjoyable.

Thanks for being part of the challenge!

  6. I LOVE Elizabeth George!! I’ve read all of her books. Happy Reading and Good Luck with your challenge!

  7. If you read and traveled a lot the kindle truly would be a great thing. Great list, Lana. Forgotten God sounds very interesting.

  8. Forgotten God sounds interesting to me too – I did a post awhile ago about how I only call upon the Holy Spirit in certain circumstances and then neglect the Holy Spirit all the rest of the times. I’m writing that one down!

  9. Green with envy – I want a kindle. You have an interesting list of books. I’ll be checking out Silva’s book.

  10. I also like to read more than one book at a time, but I am not sure if the Kindle is for me. I feel like maybe I would miss the sitting down and opening up a book feeling. But it’s good to hear that you enjoy it! Maybe I should reconsider…

  11. I’ve been going back and forth about getting a kindle. Great list have fun reading!

  12. Loving God with All Your Mind – Elizabeth George

    This sounds really good.
I Love the images you have above your list.

Kindle sounds neat. I wonder if you could tell me the price range.
How many books does one hold?
As you can probably tell, I don’t know much about them.
I have heard kindle mentioned a time or two.
    Blessings,
    Joyful
