Out in the Fields with God

The little cares that fretted me,
I lost them yesterday
Among the fields above the sea,
Among the winds that play,
Among the lowing of the herds,
The rustling of the trees,
Among the singing of the birds,
The humming of the bees.

The fears of what may come to pass,
I cast them all away
Among the clover-scented grass,
Among the new mown hay,
Among the rustling of the corn,
Where drowsy poppies nod,
Where ill thoughts die and good are born,
Out in the fields with God.

1 Peter 5:6-7

Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time. Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.

  1. Our Pastor talked about getting out and away to spend time with God. I think in God’s creation we can get a bigger picture of his majesty. Beautiful woods…

  2. Mom had this over the sink in a beautiful colonial farmhouse as long as we lived there. It’s an introduction to Prayer. You always knew when it was Sunday.
