Questions:
1. Do you read or study best in silence or in a place with background noise? Why? Usually silence, but I can also read with classical music in the background – no words!  I lose my concentration otherwise.

2. If you were to write a book about your life, what would it be called? Above the Clouds – Talks with Jesus at 40,000 feet.

3. (This question is a deep one…I know it should be a bonus, but I already have a few bonus questions chosen for this week) Why do you think divorce is so prevalent? Because people go into it with the notion of if it doesn’t work I can just leave mentality. They forget the for better for worse part of the contract.

4. What’s the best way to resist peer pressure? To work on biblical self esteem. To be sure of who you are in Christ.  To bathe yourself in truth so that you can discern what is right.  Take a minute and visualize what your decision’s outcome might be – can you live with that?

5. What is the most serious illness or injury you ever faced?  Supraventricular tachycardia

What is supraventricular tachycardia?

Supraventricular tachycardia (SVT) is an abnormal fast heart rhythm that starts in the upper chambers, or the atria, of the heart. (“Supraventricular” means above the ventricles, “tachy” means fast, and “cardia” means heart.)

Basically, I had an electrical problem in my heart.  I had a procedure done called Ablation Therapy and I am fine now.

Non-surgical ablation, used for many types of arrhythmias, is performed in a special lab called the electrophysiology (EP) laboratory. During this non-surgical procedure a catheter is inserted into a specific area of the heart. A special machine directs energy through the catheter to small areas of the heart muscle that causes the abnormal heart rhythm. This energy “disconnects” the pathway of the abnormal rhythm. It can also be used to disconnect the electrical pathway between the upper chambers (atria) and the lower chambers (ventricles) of the heart.

Bonus Questions
6. When was the last time you felt like you had a laugh with God? Every single day of my life!  We laugh a lot – mostly at me!

7. What do you say to someone who is going through a tragic or hard time?  What I say is wordless.  What I say is all in action: a hug, hand them a tissue, let them talk, rant, rave whatever and say as little as possible.  Just basically be there to listen. Sometimes it’s okay not to have words.

  1. I loved all your answers. You could write a devotional and market it to frequent flyers for them to read on the plane. Maybe Alaska Airlines can make it available 🙂
