WFMW-Clean Candle Holders   6 comments

For Works for Me Wednesday this week, I would like to share a tip from Real Simple magazine that I will be trying.

What you do is spray the inside of a votive with a thin coating of cooking spray before dropping in a tealight. After the candle has burned down, the remaining wax should slip right out – an easy way to replace an old flame and that works for me!

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!

Update: It worked!

  1. Definitely going to try this one!

  2. This is a great tip. Thanks Lana G!!

  3. What a great idea. I always have votive candles for all occasions. I usually take the votive glass and put it in the microwave for about 30 seconds to melt the wax, then I clean it with a paper towel. Your idea is even better!

  4. That’s a great idea! Thanks!

  5. Good idea. But it’s cooking spray flammable? I heard that water in the votive will work similar. Haven’t tried it yet though.

  6. Oops. I meant “isn’t” (it’s). I didn’t proofread.
