Show & Tell Friday – Patriotic Table   26 comments

For Show & Tell Friday this week I wanted to share a tradition of mine. I like to put out decorations for almost every holiday.  I have a shelf in my entry that gets decorated and then my dining room table gets set and stays set.  I’m ready for entertaining.

I love this little tradition of mine.  It gives me room in my cupboards for other dishes and glasses and my dining room always looks ready for a party!  I think decorating for summer is one of my favorites besides Christmas.

Here’s my summer table in preparation for Flag Day, July 4th, summer, etc:

Aren’t those plates fun!

Kitty, thanks for coming by! There have been so many times that I have said, oh I’ll come back for those. OOPS Gone! LOL indeed! You have a great weekend as well!

  17. What a beautiful table. I love it! The red, white, and blue theme is perfect. And I love the fact that when someone walks in your door, even unexpectedly, they feel welcome.
Your blog is a delight. What interesting and diverse subject matter, and insightful thoughts. I have written down several book titles from your list for spring reading. I love to read.
Thanks for stopping by my place today. I so enjoyed your comment about cheering on my grandbirdies to fly. I so enjoy the season of watching them grow and leave. Although I miss them.

Becky, welcome! Thanks for stopping by and for your nice comments! I am an avid reader and can’t wait for the summer reading challenge to start.
I am bird fan. I will probably be posting my bird house collection soon! Come back anytime!

  18. What a great idea! I love it! I have never thought about doing that. It really puts you in the mood of the current holiday. I may have to start collecting holiday ware just for that purpose.
By the way, those were longaberger baskets on my bookshelf. I have been collecting them since I got married which was 5 years ago. Also, I have gotten some handed down to me from family members. My greatest find was one from a garage sale for 8.00. Very exciting. Thanks so much for stopping by my blog. It is so nice to meet new people.

Amber, I knew it! I have a huge Longaberger collection. I too have found them at garage sales and Good Will before our GW up here put them as collectibles and started charging higher prices for them! Still a bargain. I really like the specialty ones for the holidays. I haven’t found a person who sells them up here yet though. Thanks for coming over and have a fabulous weekend!

  19. Love the plates, the setting, and the theme!
Thank you for visiting me today and for your kind words.
My blog’s “theme” verse is one of my favorites. *Ü*
I love how the Lord shows us how to apply His Word.

Lori, they are so fun to decorate with and I found them at Fred Meyer. I’m not sure what store I can compare Fred Meyer to – similar to Target I guess. Thanks for stopping by. Have a fantastic weekend!

  24. What a great idea! We only have one eating area which we use each night (when we aren’t wolfing down a sandwich at a baseball game). I will need to come back here a pretend your table is mine. OH, by the way, hi neighbor! I actually live in Kent—we are having copper river salmon for the first time tonight to celebrate my daughter’s graduation from grad school at the UW. Can you believe I have lived in Washington State all my life and NEVER had this delicacy?? Thank goodness for Costco.
*smiles and thanks for visiting my blog*

Kim, Hilarious! Congrats to your daughter! Costco is a life saver! My husband works in Renton! Come over to my blog any time and pretend my table is yours whenever! Catch ya later!
