Call to Prayer with Campus Crusade for Christ   Leave a comment

Tragedy at Virginia Tech

In times like these we desperately need God – we need God to meet with us, to comfort us, and to give us perspective. We need to look heavenward to the One who can give grace and pour out His mercy in our time of need.

Campus Crusade for Christ is calling on the Christian community to pray for all those involved in this tragedy today.  Please join in.  You can leave word on their website, that you are participating.  Spread the word.

Mercies Anew   2 comments

My niece, Michelle,  shared the lyrics to this song with our family in a very special e-mail and I thought I would post it.  Praying that we would all experience mercies anew! Here is her e-mail:

The lyrics to this song, Mercies Anew, came to my mind when I read your emails. Its a great song that our worship band at church is going to be introducing in a few weeks. It was a wonderful reminder to me from Lamentations 3:22-23 of the Lord’s mercy and compassion on His children…us!!

Because of the Lord’s mercies we are not consumed, for His compassions never fail. They are new every morning; Great is Your faithfulness!”  Lamentations 3: 22-23

Mercies Anew

Every morning that breaks there are mercies anew.
Every breath that I take is Your faithfulness proved,
And at the end of each day, when my labors are through,
I will sing of Your mercies anew

When I’ve fallen and strayed, there were mercies anew.
For you sought me in love and my heart you pursued.
In the face of my sin, Lord, You never withdrew.
So I sing of Your mercies anew.

And Your mercies they will never end;
For ten thousand years they remain.
And when this world’s beauty has passed away,
Your mercies will be unchanged.

And when the storms swirl and rage, there are mercies anew.
In affliction and pain, You will carry me through.
And at the end of my days, when your throne fills my view,
I will sing of Your mercies anew.
I will sing of Your mercies anew.

Thanks Michelle for sharing!
