We had an awesome time in Italy.  I will post more pictures this week.  But the story about this picture really is so special.  Steve and I were walking down the narrow streets of Assisi on our way to the Francis of Assisi Church.  I saw this old man walking with a bunch of beautiful flowers and wanted to get a picture of them.  I asked him if I could take a picture and he said yes and then handed me some of the flowers!  The Italians are wonderful people.  Always wanting to help and going out of their way to make sure you find your way.   We have wonderful memories of our trip.  I am now trying to catch up with being back.  Oh the joys of travel!

I finished one of my books for the Spring Read – Stepping Heavenward and was deeply moved by the life of Elizabeth Prentiss.  The honesty in this book was refreshing and oh so convicting.  The things she had to suffer through and being able to accept her suffering as a gift from Christ our Saviour is an amazing picture.  I so easily whine and complain when things go wrong and there are so many opportunities in my so called “sufferings” that I can commit these to the Lord to mold and shape me into his image.  I resist so often!

I am also adding a book to my list – The Thirteenth Tale by Diane Setterfield.  While on our layover in London, I saw the book and had to get it for the flight home since I had finished Stepping Heavenward.  I must say I have been glued to the book from the get go and hope to finish it this week.

On the fight home, I watched Miss Potter; the movie on the life of Beatrix Potter.  If you have not seen this movie – IT IS A MUST!  I told Steve I wanted to purchase it.  I had just finished reading Stepping Heavenward and this book is set in about the same time frame so it was great to see the comparison of the backgrounds.

Beatrix Potter was an amazing woman and this movie is so heartwarming.  I laughed, I cried, I found myself smiling afterwards.  I want to see it again!

Okay, back to work.  Welcome back to blogging – Oh how I have missed it!
